FAQ's

Q. What do I need to wear?
Dress appropriately for the weather conditions. It is always better to be able to take something off, then not to have it when you need it! Wear comfortable clothing, and comfortable footwear. Walks tend to be on all sorts of terrain including muddy paths.

Q. I am worried I am unfit and will be the slowest, will I still be able to walk with you?
Nordic walking is a great way to get fit and to keep fit. I have different groups and match my walks according to ability. I adjust the pace to suit everyone in the group and ensure it is enjoyable, with stops when needed.

Q. How much does it cost?
The walks are between 1.5 to 3 hours in length normally and cost £8. Beginner sessions are £10.

Q. How do I get started?
Drop me a line either via email (sharon@gowalkamolie.co.uk) or via the contact page to arrange a technique session. You may need between 2 to 4 sessions. It is essential to learn the technique before going on the walks, the correct technique means you make full use of the poles.

Q. Do you walk if it's raining?
Absolutely! I agree with the sentiment that there is no such thing as bad weather - only bad clothing. I believe it is invigorating to walk in the elements !

Q. I don't have poles, can I hire them?
I have plenty of poles for you to borrow - there is no charge..

Q. Who walks with you and how long are the walks?
A whole variety of people who love walking and the outdoors walk with me! Ages range from mid twenties so far, up to 80 years of age. I have 1 hour walks, and also longer walks for the fitter walker, which can be hilly, flat or a mixture of both. Nordic walking is great for those who have fitness and or mobility issues, and my walks are tailored for those who prefer flatter and shorter walks. There are some runners who come on the Nordic walks as it is easier on the joints. For the more serious Nordic walker there will be a Ultra distance walk in September. In essence all walks vary in length depending on group ability. Walk are tailored to suit the group and individual needs and requirements.

Q. How do I get on the walks?
If you are already a seasoned Nordic walker and wish to join me have a look at the dates I am walking and drop me an email ( sharon@gowalkamolie.co.uk ), or a message via the contact page. The same applies for those who have never tried Nordic walking, however the technique must be learned first so contact me to arrange.
